Colorado River Near Moab, Utah

This is Potash Road, Utah Route 279, a scenic route that runs along the Colorado River from US Route 191 near Moab, past the potash fertilizer plant to Dead Horse Point State Park and Canyonlands National Park. A beautiful drive. The road and river run through the gorge in the middle of the picture. The Lasal Mountains are in the distant background.

The spot from which this photo was taken is next to a large expanse of fenced-off land containing old uranium mine tailings that are being cleaned up.
