Alligator Crossing

In Everglades National Park one morning, walking the Anhinga Trail. Many mosquitoes, no people. A sudden loud thrashing in the vegetation. This young fellow emerges from the reeds, crosses the trail and slides into the opposite canal. Why did the alligator cross the road? Who the hell knows.
