Desert Sunrise

Standing on a Dead Sea beach at Ein Gedi at dawn and photographing the sun coming up over the Mountains of Moab, I turned around and saw this.

Venus Rising

At the Flamingo amphitheater in Everglades National Park, one of the darker places in South Florida. This was supposed to be the peak night to watch the Orionid meteor shower. After a few hours of spotty success photographing meteors, the planet Venus, rising about an hour before dawn, marked the beginning of the transition from night to day.

Shark Valley Moonrise

Another lovely moonrise as seen from the observation tower at Shark Valley in Everglades National Park. This image is from the same day as this, but was taken about twenty minutes later and looking about 120 degrees away. Turbulent weather makes for great views.
